This policy explains what Around Me collects, why, who can see it, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Account info: your name and email. Students give their school (.edu) email so we can verify them.
Profile: school, profile photo, bio, skills and availability — whatever you choose to add.
Activity: jobs you post, messages you send, ratings you give, and reports you make.
Approximate location: the general area of a job, and your location only if you tap "My area" on the map (it isn't saved).
Exact address: the address you enter when you post a job.
Payment info: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card or bank numbers — we only keep payment amounts, dates and status.
The date you agreed to our Terms and this policy.

The map only shows a soft circle around the general area, moved a few hundred feet — never an exact pin.
Your exact address is shared only with the student you accept, and only after your payment goes through.

To run Around Me: show jobs, connect posters and students, process payments and payouts.
To keep people safe: verify students, filter contact details in chat before payment, and review reports.
To email you about new messages when you've been away, and about important job or payment updates.

Your profile and open jobs are visible to other Around Me members, except people you've blocked.
Messages can only be read by the two people in the chat.
Only people who worked on a job together can rate each other.
The Around Me team can see account, job, payment and report details to support users and handle problems.
Service providers who help us run Around Me (Stripe for payments, and our hosting and email providers) process data only to provide their service.

We don't sell, rent or trade your personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.

Go to Profile → Delete my account and confirm.
We remove your name, email, photo, bio, skills, availability, job addresses and the messages you sent. Your open jobs are taken down.
We keep payment records (amounts, dates, and which job) because we're required to for taxes and accounting.
If you have a job or payment in progress, finish or cancel it first. You can also email us to delete your account.

You can edit your profile anytime, turn off read receipts, and block anyone. Questions or requests? Email aroundme.coo@gmail.com.

Around Me is only for people 18 and older. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone younger.

If we update this policy, we'll change the "Last updated" date above and tell you about important changes.
